It's my granddaughter's favorite play place in the western suburbs. She wishes she could live there. 🤗

Place was ok. Could use some more kid-proofing (glass shelves and breakable displayed on them... at a height my 18mo old could reach is NOT a good idea). Front desk should have a door or gate between play area and desk area (trash bin and chemicals on the floor in easy access of little ones). Room themes were cute but everything just seemed kind of dumpy...I wrinkled my nose a few times. All the kids loved the climbing tower but it was small and if we had brought that older kids (5-7) they would have been bored to death in minutes. It was something to do on a cold day but I probably won't ever go back, especially at that price point. There's no way they should be charging more than $5 admission considering there are so many better places out there that are less expensive and offer a better experience.

This was so much fun. I took my Grandson there and he didn't want to leave. So much to offer for the children.

it's in a nice area however the pictures make the place looks a lot more nicer than it actually is not very big but has a nice area for parties.

It's a shame that I have to rate it a 3 because I took my older boys (now 6 & 8) here 7 or so years ago when it was new and in its prime and it was amazing then. Currently, the actual facility is great--clean overall and decorated and set-up well (as far as space). I like that the new owners are trying new things like a bubble show and bringing princesses in on certain days etc. The owner was even painting a new mural on the wall today in attempt to brighten up the place and to go with a new themed area. However, I think they are missing the big picture. The kids are there to PLAY--and the problem is the actual "manipulative toys" are minimal or out of reach. They have lots of larger furniture type toys (riding cars, train table, "kitchen playhouse," pirate ship, etc. but are lacking an efficient amount of the manipulative type toys to go with each themed room. For example, the new owners keep the princess dresses and toy trains behind the counter where you have to ask to use them instead of keeping them in the rooms associated with the toys' themes. It is very awkward and uninviting to have to ASK for a TOY to play with at a PLAYPLACE! (And, most people don't know to actually ask since the signs are posted inside the rooms and kids can't read!). How can you play "kitchen" or "grocery store" when there's only a handful of food toys!?!. The "Vet's office" has a bunch of stuffed animals but no doctor tools (X-ray machine, stethoscope, clipboards etc). Also, the room that used to be my kids' favorite room(the dance room that has a black light etc) now has a random puppet show and playhouse not tying to any theme. My girls (4, 2) don't even like going in there because it's "scary" and there's nothing to actually do in there. Last, I don't understand why they would charge additional money to ride on the train on the weekends. It seems a little absurd to me to have to pay an additional cost for something so minor. You are already paying an entrance fee-it's not like it's a roller coaster ride or something! So I regretfully rate it a 3 now in hopes that they read my review and give the kids more to actually play with because I hope that it can become a 5 again soon. It would be a shame to close down a place that has such potential to be so fun for the little ones! It's maybe worth a discounted groupon rate (I paid $8) but I wouldn't pay full price to go here until it improves.

You can bring a snack (just no peanut products). My preschoolers love it here.

From Our Editors

In its more than 12 themed play areas, Kids Town not only entertains little ones, but also helps them develop skills for creative self-expression and social engagement. Kids explore the indoor pint-sized city, wandering through the central market with a kid-sized grocery cart before paying a visit to the princess palace, sheriff's office, fire department, and pet clinic. Afterward, youths can cozy up to the pretend-only fireplace to read a book on the petite plaid sofa or enter the dramatically lit party room, with its galactic carpet and Earth-bound walls or enjoy weekdays Bubbles Show and Thomas the Train ride.

All the while, the facility keeps kids safe with careful sanitation—aided by a strict socks policy and nontoxic, all-natural BabyGanics cleansers—and by forbidding all peanut products.
