The CT Ren Faire is good fun for all ages - my 3 year old got to dance, joust with a knight, and eat a Rocket Popsicle; I got to dress in garb, drink Beestings, and shop. Really who loses in this situation?? My Faire Pro-tips: Bring your kids, cash, and lots of sunscreen.

Parking free. Actors, actresses and musicians lively and entertaining and engage the audience in fun and singing. Festival not too large and overwhelming. Many kinds of different foods and drinks available. Activities throughout the festival.

If you can, get dressed up, so many people attend in costume that aren't even part of the event...

Great time without the price and lines of king richards... No need for food tix and beers are six or eight bucks compared to around 12-14 at king richards ... Also the fall festival features a Halloween bonus fight to the death for no extra money!

From Our Editors

A crack rings out from the jousting arena as armored knights clash in the pursuit of honor, while sword-swallowers thrill crowds with their death-defying art, jesters spin windy jokes, and townspeople in 15th-century garb roam the grounds tearing into turkey legs with their teeth. Actors caper about a constructed medieval village, engaging in Old English?flavored conversation and clapping games with fair-goers. In a tented marketplace, vendors sell beaded crafts, art, and tyrannical-king repellent alongside stands serving mead, beer, and other satisfying sundries.
