I thought the Renaissance Faire's Halloween Night was fun However, the Groupon description talked about a finale involving the headless horseman battling other enemies (it even said to bring your carved pumpkins in support of the headless horseman!) While there was a fire jousting finale with various demons, the headless horseman was no where in it We specifically bought the tickets because my son is crazy about the headless horseman, so we were disappointed I would encourage either the festival or Groupon to update the description!

We've attended several times, this being the first time the affair went into the night By 5 pm the food vendors ran out of many, many items leaving many patrons disgruntled and hungry The night time faire atmosphere was spoiled by large, bright flood lights The stage performers could barely be heard in many cases For the first time, I don't think going was worth the price of admission We probably won't be back

It was fun there but don't think I would want to spend the full priceI think they need a better planning for their food station I was in line for about half an hour and finally three people before me they announced they were out of french fries!!!! So I ordered my hotdogs and had to get another line for french fries, which after ordering them it took them an additional 10 minutes to finally the hand them to us While we were waiting we saw the guy cutting the potatoes and putting them in a big bowl while we were waiting we saw the guy cutting the potatoes and putting them in a big bowl without Any gloves on And what made it worse was seeing him take his hand and wipe his nose harshly then eating food and shove it in his mouth !!! We were really grossed out that he behaved like that in Plainview and didn't even put gloves on when handling the food he was making !!!! Also the stand that sold the turkey legs was out of turkey legs after being in line for so long I think they need better planning for the amount of people that go there ) :

From Our Editors

As the drawbridge to The Connecticut Renaissance Faire closes for the evening, the sounds of Halloween laughter can be heard echoing in North Haven. After enjoying a full day of turkey legs and tyrannical kings in a tented marketplace, the festive event transforms into a Halloween haven filled with photo-happy zombies, shopping under the moonlight, games, contests, food, and shows, including the main event: a fire-fueled joust between the headless horseman and his arch enemies.
