About St. Augustine Wild Reserve

The St. Augustine Wild Reserve was founded to provide a home for unwanted and abused exotic animals. The center will not refuse any exotic animal, and will provide top-quality care for all animals throughout their lives at the sanctuary. In most cases, animals will remain at the Reserve for the remainder of their lives. Our educational objective is to create in the general public a respect for all animals in the hope that an informed and enlightened public will allow the peaceful coexistence of man and nature. We work closely with Florida Fish and Wildlife, and take in various exotic animals in need of a permanent home. Tours are offered 4 days a week by appointment.

Felt like a Tiger King tour. Better than Catty Shack imo. While they do have a variety of animals there are a lot of the same kind. Tour kinda felt too long. To be fair I’m not one to sit and read info about an exhibit and I’m a seen one seen em all type of person. Still fascinating to see these creatures with their own personalities. Not allowed to take pictures and our group was large and noisy.

Excellent experience if you like wild animals-which I do. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the reserve, the history and especially about the individual animals-she easily shared information on all of the animals-their likes and dislikes. Incredible sanctuary for animals.

Save your money on this one. I do appreciate what they are trying to do there but it’s a shame the way they house the animals and it’s disingenuous to feed and pet the animals in front of the paying customers. It felt like I paid for the workers to have all the fun while me kids stood there looking at on. Awkward
