I had never heard of all in the icing before the groupon, but I'm glad I did now. Donna, Beth, and Vilma were all so incredibly nice and so much fun to work with. The class itself is a lot of fun and adding wine always make something better. :) I would recommend this to everyone. Great place and great event. Everything they make is also delicious. I'll definitely be a returning customer. Thanks ladies!!

Duo of baking artists teaches confectionary fundamentals & how to decorate desserts before students walk away with small take-home cakes.

Before cupcake pans, personalized dessert portions were made by baking full-sized cakes and shrinking them in the dryer. Skip extra steps with today's Groupon: for $25, you get a two-hour cupcake- and cake-baking class at All in the Icing (a $60 value) in Netcong. Classes take place Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. to 8 pm. Check updates on the schedule here.

Inside All in the Icing's cozy kitchen, a duo of confectionary artists stir organic, local ingredients into decadent cupcakes and cakes topped with stunning decorations. During each two-hour BYOB baking class, the talented pair imparts oven-front prowess to amateur and intermediate bakers, reviewing fundamentals from crafting tantalizing batter to squeezing icing from icebergs. The relaxed setting invites up to 14 students to sip drinks and munch snacks while mixing together sugary confections and calculating proper bake times. After cakes and mini-cakes cool from stays in the oven, students learn basic decorating skills, scrawling celebratory messages or demands for higher salaries onto bright rounds. Students depart with a small take-home cake and a head start on composing more advanced cupcake flavors, from the banana-and-walnut-flecked hummingbird cake to fire-free s'mores.

About All in the icing

Donna Infantolino has been baking since she was tall enough to reach the kitchen table, crafting recipes from scratch in her aunt and grandmother’s kitchens. At her combination café and bakery, she and business partner Beth Butler begin every recipe with organic, sustainable ingredients, such as Nielsen-Massey pure vanilla and Scharffen Berger chocolate, whenever possible. The dessert dream team crafts wedding cakes, traditional and filled cupcakes, and one-of-a-kind sculpted cakes in original shapes such as convincing guitars or sassy pumps. They also accommodate customers with dietary restrictions through vegan and gluten-free options.

All in the Icing's staffers expand recreational baking abilities during small-group BYOB classes, which include all of the high-quality ingredients and equipment necessary to create sweet or savory recipes. At the end of sessions, participants head home with their tasty works to share with family or break into tiny pieces to add to crumb collections.
