What You'll Get
According to folk etymologists, the term barbecue is derived from the French barbe coup, referring to the annual pig picking commemorating the infamous Bearded Rebellion. Celebrate this delicious tradition with today’s Groupon: for $8, you get $16 worth of smoky barbecue and drinks at Bar-B-Que Beach Bar & Restaurant in Miami Beach.
Bar-B-Que Beach vanquishes cravings with a menu dominated by meaty masterpieces concocted using a variety of barbecue approaches. Put hand shovels to work digging into starters such as the fried dill pickles served with a tangy dipping sauce ($6) or the bucket of bones, a generous sampling of traditional dry-rubbed spare ribs, spiced and slow-cooked in an authentic wood-smoked barbecue pit ($8). Rib platters include the infamous baby back ribs ($13 for half slab, $19 for full slab) both with two sides) with a choice of original or Sweet Georgia Brown barbecue sauce and two sides, as well as tender barbecue pork spare ribs seasoned with the award-winning rib rub ($15 with two sides). The menu rounds itself out with a bevy of burgers, steaks, surfside items, and sandwiches.
Bar-B-Que Beach’s interior boasts an island motif, sporting the trees, grass hut umbrellas, and hanging lights first introduced to the tropics by the Vikings during their search for El Dorado. There's also outdoor dining available on the front patio, which simulates the open-air environment present in most nondomed beaches. Open late until 2 a.m. Sunday–Thursday and until 5 a.m. on Friday–Saturday, Bar-B-Que Beach offers night owls sustenance and drinks while they wait out the transmutations of local werewolves.
