With individual location run by its own [head chef and general manager](http://gr.pn/rQxd4M), each Bensi restaurant adds original flair to traditional Italian dishes that are tossed, grilled, and plated with fresh ingredients. Dishes clamor to be chosen from a packed [menu](http://gr.pn/lvJiTm), including [red](http://gr.pn/ld5B0r) and [white](http://gr.pn/mhHI1n) pizzas ($5.95–$17.95) rolled by hand into mini busts of Augustus. [Pasta](http://gr.pn/tsuv7t) plates include spaghetti with eggplant sauce ($9.95 for lunch; $13.95 for dinner), which dices the eponymous plant before sautéing it alongside onions, roasted peppers, and fresh tomatoes. The restaurant's [17 entree specialties](http://gr.pn/sCyZpN) launch fireworks of flavor across tonguescapes, exemplified by thinly sliced chicken francese with artichoke hearts simmered in a wine, butter, and lemon sauce ($10.95 for lunch; $15.95 for dinner). The kitchen staff uncrates daily deliveries of [fish and seafood](http://gr.pn/slM6v7), inspecting each aquatic specimen for freshness and the mark of Cthulhu before crafting dishes such as potato-crusted salmon, spiced in mustard sauce and garnished with spinach ($12.95 for lunch; $17.95 for dinner). Each pasta dish arrives at tables accompanied by a choice of house salad or [chicken or minestrone soup](http://gr.pn/vjQgcH), both whipped up fresh each day, and entrees and seafood dishes add linguine with tomato sauce to patrons' choice of side dishes. Bensi welcomes couples and families into a modern dining atmosphere where minimal table settings and simple, dark-wood furniture help eyes affix to vibrant dishes. The eatery also hangs photographs on its walls depicting joyful Italian scenes and figures, including a youthful da Vinci unwrapping a new tricycle on his birthday.

Bensi

Bensi co-owner Genci Previzi helms an immense menu of classic Italian cuisine, including hearty homestyle dishes with roots in Calabria, Italy. Entrees, joined by a house salad or cup of comforting housemade soup, range from spaghetti and meatballs to gluten-free grilled chicken in a lemon-garlic marinade served over a veggie medley. The chefs also prepare an array of specials such as pignoli-crusted goat cheese and arugula salad, barolo-braised veal osso buco, pan-seared Chilean sea bass with eggplant caponata, and nutella chocolate pizza with fresh strawberries. The dishes are served in a modern dining atmosphere where minimal table settings and simple dark-wood furniture keep the focus on the vibrant cuisine.

Customer Reviews

Server was very pleasant but it took a long time for each course. We both ordered the same dish; one of us liked it, the other didn't.

My adult son and I like to go to Bensi because there is a wide variety of choices. He said the carozza (spelling?) is the best he's had. He also likes the specialty pizzas. I love the walnut and gorgonzola salad. This is my go to place when I visit him in Denville!
