What You'll Get

Jump to: Reviews | Historical Boneheads

We brought you Boneheads' extremely spicy piri-piri peppers and sublimely seasoned fish and chicken in July. Now they're back by popular demand. This time, get your fiery Groupon at three different Boneheads locations: Powers Ferry, 2022 Powers Ferry Road Ste. 240; Perimeter Place, 4511 Olde Perimeter Way; and Peachtree Battle Shopping Center, 2349 Peachtree Road NE.

Piri-piri is the perfect spice with an unforgettable flavor; that's why Boneheads' finely seasoned wings and breasts are grilled instead of fried. That means it's much healthier than the deep-fried buckets you buy at other fish and chicken joints. If you like your poultry kicking, order it extra hot on Boneheads' Piri-Piri Sauce Heat Index. If hot peppers make you beg for mercy, order level one: lemon and herb. Boneheads' fish, seasoned with a special blend of Boneheads' spices, are grilled to perfection, too. If the spicy fish and fowl on Boneheads' menu don't make your mouth water, the toppings will: choose from pineapple salsa, cucumber lime and yogurt, and sautéed piri-piri mushrooms. You'll get your food faster than you can finish it, leaving more time to pursue extended boneheaded endeavors (high-dive belly flops, noogies, log rolls, etc.). Boneheads is a favorite for casual atmosphere with fast and friendly service.

Boneheads has a perfect five stars on Kudzu; Yelpers give four stars to the Buckhead location and the one on Olde Perimeter:

  • Boneheads is a gem. I had never tried anything with Piri Piri sauce or peppers so I was real curious, and I am happy to say it is deeelishous...good grilled food, tangy spicy piri sauce, fresh ingredients and the best part - quick and affordable. – Skape Z., Yelp
  • Quick. Filling. Tasty....somewhat healthy??? Offering nicely proportioned meals, and a good choice of fish and sides, you'll find that this is a great retreat from the fast food grind. – Jeffrey A., Yelp
  • This is a wonderful place for some healthy food at a very moderate price. Their grilled fish is flavorful and the portion is just right. Casual dining atmosphere and everybody in my family loved it! – BeardedDragon, Kudzu

Historical Boneheads

History has been unkind to the bonehead. An oft-maligned character blamed for trivial blunders (over-sudsing a hapless washing machine, over-ironing a spouse’s shirt, etc.), the bonehead deserves more respect.

Fact: Abraham Lincoln was a bonehead. In 1863, Honest Abe accidentally spilled a cup of piping-hot coffee on the original Emancipation Proclamation, causing its drafter to cry, “You bonehead!” During its rewrite, Lincoln got the idea for civil equality and decided to make this the focus of the document instead of pothole repair.

Other famous boneheads include Eleanor Roosevelt (over-shampooing), Ernest Hemingway (known to start “the wave”), and Gandhi (slow driver). So when considering a destination for chicken and fish done wisely and wonderfully, remember that boneheads have the winning spirit.

About Boneheads

Though most fender-benders result in insurance exchanges or street fights, one between a chef from South Africa and a chef from Atlanta ended in a good laugh and a new business venture. The two chefs’ dreams of offering people grilled seafood and introducing Americans to piri-piri pepper sauce collided. Afterwards, the duo crafted a menu of grilled tilapia, mahi-mahi, and flame-broiled chicken smothered in sauce made from a tiny, exotic South African pepper. When choosing the name, they turned back to the fateful accident, when one chef exclaimed “I am such a Bonehead!” and the other just let him take the fall and ticket.
