Tasty Buddha, the successor of Steamers, took Steamers' most popular flavors and added a medley of other options to create a creatively eclectic menu. This so-called "No Veto" menu gives no diner—whether picky, vegetarian, weight-watching, or carnivorously picky—a reason to reject the offerings at hand. Silence the rumbles of an empty stomach with a burger such as the monk burger, ordained with a choice of steak, chicken, or tempeh and grilled mushrooms, onions, and choice of cheese ($7.25). A variety of fry flavors—such as sweet potato, mushroom, and zucchini ($1.75–$3.75)—creatively accompany burgers. There are globally inspired choices such as fried rice and curry dishes. And all of Tasty Buddha's tasty eats incorporate locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
Tasty Buddha is dedicated not only to filling Gainesville stomachs with savory eats but also to filling the need for culture and creativity. It doubles as an art gallery featuring local artists and triples as a community bulletin board for local businesses, community announcements, and classifieds for out-of-work grizzly bears.
