Digital cameras have allowed photographers to spend less time in dark rooms and more time gluing cotton-ball wigs and googly eyes onto old film canisters. Create art in the digital age with today’s Groupon: for $59, you get The Ultimate Camera Experience workshop package from Capturing True Emotion (a $450 total value). The package includes:

  • One four-hour digital-photography workshop (a $250 value).
  • One two-hour photo expedition (a $200 value)<p>

This Groupon is valid for workshops and expeditions on the following dates:

  • Friday, October 7
  • Sunday, November 6
  • Monday, November 7
  • Saturday, December 10

Each [workshop](http://www.capturingtrueemotion.com/workshops/category/los-angeles-ca) takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the UCLA Northwest Campus Auditorium. Photo expeditions last from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on each of the dates listed, although customers may choose to take part in the expedition on a different day than their workshop. Capturing True Emotion is driven by a dynamic band of instructors, including this series' guru, Michael Rueter, a dedicated portrait photographer and Hollywood film producer. By fusing their narrative, tech-savvy minds together into one oversize head, the educators provide comprehensive guidance on both camera operation and creative visualization, giving participants complete control over all of their digital-camera settings. During the four hours spent in the company of other pupating shutterbugs, students learn strategies for controlling depth of field by adjusting the aperture, shooting an artful yeti sighting in any light, composing a family portrait so there’s not always a burning zeppelin in the background, using alternative angles to avoid red eye, and other techniques. After the morning workshop, students put their new shutter-speed savvy to good use under the tutelage of their former instructors. Students are able to register online [here](http://gr.pn/gZzsdV).
