About About Chateau Aeronautique Tasting Room
Lorenzo Lizarralde's two passions—winemaking and aeronautics—may seem unrelated, but they coexist in harmony at Chateau Aeronautique Tasting Room. There, the tasting room shares its space with an airplane hangar and grass runway on which the vintner lands his 1956 Cessna 172 and his newly acquired 1940 Stearman Bi-Plane that is featured on every bottle. Fermented from Michigan grapes, the chateau's handcrafted wines span the gamut, from dry to sweet taking inspiration from the wineries in Bordeaux France imparting wafting strawberry bouquets, apricot aromas, and floral notes.
