Underwater explorers observe things that regular pedestrians can’t, from exotic fish to wrecked ships that were loaded with too many exotic-fish tanks. Take an underwater stroll with today’s Groupon to Dosil’s. Choose between the following options:
For $199, you get a PADI Open Water Diver Certification course (up to a $503 total value). Those who opt to take the course in-person must obtain an instructional DVD for $40, which is refunded if the DVD is returned. The in-person option includes one open-water crew pack (a $74 value).
Those who opt to take the classroom portion of the course online must pay an additional $120 for e-learning and lifetime access to the PADI Digital Open Water Diver Manual. The in-person and online options both include course tuition (a $429 value).
For $29, you get a PADI Discover Scuba course (a $65 value). All equipment is included.
Students in the Open Water Diver Certification course must provide their own masks, snorkels, fins, boots, gloves, hoods, weights, and weight belts, all available for purchase from Dosil’s on-site shop. Dosil’s will offer a one-time, initial discount of 10 percent off all equipment purchases for gear required for the Open Water Diver Certification course.
At Dosil’s, PADI professionals usher diving hopefuls into an onsite heated pool, where students learn to use equipment and maneuver safely. The Discover Scuba course lasts for two hours, during which students learn basic safety skills, how to breathe underwater, and what it looks like when starfish make out. All courses accommodate eight students or fewer, allowing for individualized attention from instructors. In the PADI Open Water Diver Certification course, students acquaint themselves with a buoyancy-compensating device and a regulator with a dive computer, which automatically streams the latest updates from diving gossip blogs.
For the in-person Open Water Diver Certification classes, pupils glean vital info during a a two-week course, with each four-hour session held Tuesday and Thursday evenings and open-water training sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The e-learning course may be completed at the student’s leisure, and online students will complete their in-pool sessions during three four-hour classes held on Sunday. For both options, the course culminates with four open-water dives in the Dutch Springs on one weekend, and successful demonstration of learned skills and mermaid dialects earns students a certification card.
