John Lloyd Young made such an indelible impression as Frankie Valli in the original Broadway production of Jersey Boys, that Clint Eastwood chose him to star in the movie version as well. It probably helped that the role made Young the only American actor to receive a Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Award as well as a Tony Award for Lead Actor in a Musical. He has since released his own R&B-tinged album My Turn, starred in an all-star production of Les Miserables at the Hollywood Bowl, and appeared in Glee. See Young as he returns to San Francisco for an intimate performance at Feinstein's, and find out what led the Times to describe his voice as a "one-in-a-million high tenor shading into falsetto that he can direct through the stratosphere."
