Choose Between Two Options

$125 for a Pacific sky tour (a $218 value)

  • 35-minute flight over the coast (a $189 value)
  • High-resolution digital photo from the flight (a $29 value)

Planes depart San Carlos Airport at any time of day to begin their flight over Crystal Springs Reservoir. They soar over the picturesque Half Moon Bay town and turn south to follow the Pacific coast and its towering cliffs. On the return leg, pilots turn inland to fly over Woodside's redwood forests.

$175 for an ultimate sky tour (a $298 value)

  • 80-minute flight over cities and coastline (a $269 value)
  • High-resolution digital photo from the flight (a $29 value)

Pilots steer their private planes south toward Silicon Valley, gliding over Stanford University and Saratoga hills. After crossing over Calaveras Reservoir and slowing down to pet the heads of hikers atop Mission Peak, they move toward the San Francisco skyline. Passengers can gaze out on views of downtown, Sausalito, and the Golden Gate Bridge as the plane continues along the shore coast to Pacifica. Planes then follow the same route as the Pacific flight before returning to the airport.

There is a minimum of two people and a maximum of three people per flight.

Fly Bay Area

With over 15 years of flying experience, Fly Bay Area's tour's are designed to bring recreation flying to the general public. Participants on Fly Bay Area's tours get to see Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, Half Moon Bay, and the coastline cliffs—but instead of exploring each up-close, they view them from around 1,500 feet in the air. Experienced pilots steer four-seat, single-engine planes over the San Francisco Peninsula and Bay, across sweeping redwood forests and the Pacific coast, during sky tours at any time of day. The FAA-approved air tour company also lets passengers helm the plane's controls on U-Fly tours. During these flights, pilots train one or two passengers in basic flight maneuvers and making airplane noises with their mouths, eschewing the extra technical and theoretical lessons required by pilot-training programs. On any flight, staff members can snap high-resolution digital photographs or high-definition videos documenting moments of the customer's in-fight experience.

Fly Bay Area

With more than 15 years of flying experience, Fly Bay Area creates tours and courses that are designed to bring recreational flying to the general public. They've recently expanded their services to include flight instruction and aircraft rental for budding and experienced pilots. Students can sign up for comprehensive and structured flight courses that count towards a Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, or Commercial Pilot Certificate. Alternatively, participants on Fly Bay Area's tours can choose to see the Peninsula, Pacific Coast/Half Moon Bay, San Francisco & Golden Gate, or the Ultimate SkyTour all around the Bay Area—but instead of exploring each up-close, they view them from around 1,500 feet in the air. Experienced pilots steer four-seat, single-engine planes over the San Francisco Peninsula and Bay, across sweeping redwood forests and the Pacific coast, during sky tours at any time of day. The FAA-approved air-tour company also lets passengers helm the plane's controls on U-Fly tours. During these flights, wannabe pilots can perform basic flight maneuvers and make airplane noises with their mouths, eschewing the extra technical and theoretical lessons required by pilot-training programs. On any flight, staff members can snap high-resolution digital photographs or high-definition videos that document moments of the customer's in-flight experience.
