Live concerts are meticulously coordinated events, with dedicated staff ensuring each instrument is tuned, each mic is working, and each band member is set in the upright and locked position. Keep their hard work from going to waste with today’s GrouponLive deal to see Josh Thompson at the Musikfest Café presented by Yuengling, located on the third and fourth floors of the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. For $20, you get two tickets for standing-room-only admission for Friday, February 10, at 7:30 p.m. (a $54 value, including all ticketing fees).

As part of the larger, nonprofit organization that shares its namesake, ArtsQuest at SteelStacks is a buzzing hive of music, culture, and independent cinema. In February, blue-collar conscript and surging country-music star Josh Thompson straps on a guitar, slides into some cowboy boots, and rides a wheeled ten-gallon hat onto the stage during a rousing one-night performance. Since trading in his working gloves for a microphone, Josh has rocketed up the country charts, drawing on gritty, everyday labors and rowdy weekends to pen such rural anthems as "Way Out Here," "Beer on the Table," and "Won't Be Lonely Long." Honky-tonk songbird Chris Cavanaugh's twangy tunes open the evening at Musikfest Café, where standing-room-only guests can sneak up close to the stage and feel the band's passion or gaze at the wind turbines used to power the drummer's arms.
