The best photographers rise to the top by practicing, while second-best photographers rise to the top by shooting blackmail photos of the first-best. Snap like a champ with today's Groupon: for $59, you get a one-hour on-location photo session, 30+ digital images, and a fully retouched 8"x10" print from Greg’s Photography (a $250 value). Sessions take place at the historic Junipero Serra Museum and Presidio Park.
With international experience and an extensive portfolio filled with celebrity faces, including Anna Kournikova, Sharon Osbourne, Ashley Judd, and Ted Turner, photographer Greg Nelsen knows how to capture a countenance. One-hour photo shoots will take place within Presidio Park’s 50 verdant acres, as the Spanish Revival architecture of the historic Junipero Serra Museum fills the background. After the one-hour shutterbug session, subjects receive a minimum of 30 low-resolution images that have been color-corrected and calibrated for email and social sites, and one fully retouched 8"x10" print, free of visual distractions such as flyaway hairs or resident angel-devil shoulder duos.
While Nelsen has a great deal of globetrotting, star-wrangling experience, his passion remains capturing the essence of individuals, children, and pets in their natural settings. He is also skilled at anthropologically observing and recording special occasions such as engagements, weddings, and doggie bar mitzvahs.
Greg Nelsen Photography
A former advertising art director for more than 15 years, Greg Nelsen accrued abundant acclaim and awards—including an Emmy for his pro bono work for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Bay—before transitioning into a photography career. He still draws on those advertising instincts by thoroughly planning, researching, and scouting locations before framing subjects at portrait, engagement, and wedding sessions. Whether at his favorite sourced locales in La Jolla and Presidio Park or one of his client's beloved spots, Greg discreetly snaps a variety of shots to capture clients’ raw and tender moments, which he later preserves as retouched prints and digital images. Outside of his studio work, he continues traveling, reporting, and expanding his portfolio, with photographs published in the New York Times and taking portraits of celebrities such as Ashley Judd, Sharon Osbourne, Anna Kournikova, and the moon from Apollo 13.
