  • For $135, you get a half day of fly-fishing for two (a $275 value).
  • For $200, you get a full day of fly-fishing for two (a $400 value).

Under the tutelage of master angler Eric Gass, GSOutfitting’s team of knowledgeable guides leads fly-fishing groups of all skill levels out onto the pristine waterways of the Deerfield, Green, or Millers Rivers for catch-and-release recreation. During the half (4–5 hours) and full (8–10 hours) day trips, fledgling fishermen set out for fish-laden waters aboard the outfit’s 13.5-foot Aire drift raft, a trusty vessel that doubles as a bland-tasting donut for local sasquatches. The company loads anglers up with all the equipment necessary to wrangle fish, including G.Loomis and Nautilus reels; G.Loomis, Sage, and Orvis rods; and hand-tied flies. Fly-fishing is most fruitful during the months of January, February, and March, giving anglers of all skill levels the opportunity to reel in trophy fish or seasonally plump rocks. The guide packs a deli lunch on full-day floats and snacks and drinks on half-day floats for hungry casters. GSOutfitting asks that individuals dress appropriately for the weather and pack proper boots, sunscreen, and hats to shield them from the sun or catch aerial-stunt fish.

Each participant must possess a valid Massachusetts fishing license, which can be purchased online.

An outdoorsman since birth and G. Loomis–endorsed guide, GSOutfitting's owner, Eric Gass, grew up hunting and fishing the Pioneer Valley and Berkshires. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Eric returned to guiding and now fishes and hunts with his faithful gordon setter, Duncan, by his side.

Eric leads fly-fishing trips aboard his 13.5-foot Aire drift raft, as well as local hunting trips for turkey and grouse. GSOutfitting also trains gun dogs and companion dogs, ensuring every hunter will have a loyal sidekick during the season.
