Trusted Mentors partners with 13 Indianapolis-area agencies, including Connected By 25 and the Indianapolis Urban League, to connect populations including those who are unemployed, young adults who have aged out of the foster-care system, and those recently released from incarceration with a variety of resources and trained mentors. Long-term mentorship can positively impact those living in poverty, and in 2010, 86 percent of Trusted Mentors' 85 mentoring relationships stretched past six months. Trusted Mentors works with mentees on many areas of their lives, including helping them to find steady employment, remain housed, continue their educations, and improve their parenting skills.
Since 2003, Trusted Mentors has helped to provide organizational training and resources to more than 125 adults in Indianapolis. In addition to a mentor's guidance, the organization equips mentees with tangible tools, such as alarm clocks and daily planners. By helping adults living in poverty to improve their day-to-day time-management and organizational skills, Trusted Mentors aims to improve the likelihood that they will find and maintain stable housing and employment.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help Trusted Mentors provide organizational resources to the program's mentees. If G-Team members raise $350, then Trusted Mentors can provide tools including alarm clocks and planners to 14 adults during time-management training through their mentorships. Each additional $25 raised will purchase organizational tools for another adult mentee. Shelly Barkat, D.C., at Castleton Chiropractic Clinic will match all donations up to $350.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100 percent off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
