Tabletop roasters cook food with greater control by providing a more reliable energy source than indirect sunlight or members of the Miami Heat. Cook on proper surfaces with today's Groupon: for $35, you get a Japanese BBQ meal for two at Gyu-Kaku (a $72.85 total value). Choose from the following locations: Beverly Hills, Canoga Park, Pasadena, Rancho Cucamonga, Sherman Oaks, Torrance, or Los Angeles. The meal for two includes:

  • Edamame (a $3.45 value)
  • Gyu-Kaku salad (a $6.50 value)
  • Two miso soups (a $3.95 value each)
  • Two white or brown rices (a $2.45 value each)
  • Sukiyaki bibimbap (a $7.95 value)
  • Filet S&P (a $7.95 value)
  • New York steak (a $7.95 value)
  • Harami miso skirt steak (a $8.45 value)
  • Shrimp garlic (a $4.95 value)
  • Spinach (a $3.95 value)

  • S'mores or banana-chocolate ice cream (a $4.95 value)

Guests at Gyu-Kaku grill marinated slices of meat and veggies on Japanese-style tabletop roasters before slathering them with an assortment of dipping sauces. Phase one of the Gyu-Kaku barbecue process involves selecting a pair of cooking tongs and the proper marinade from five choices including basil pesto and freshly chopped garlic with roasted cloves. After supping upon an appetizing array of edamame, salad, and seaweed soup, focus shifts to the ventilated tabletop roaster designed to channel smoky flavors directly into the food instead of the dining room, guests' clothes, or out of the Batmobile's tailpipe. By simply holding their sliced skirt steak or tinfoil-wrapped vegetables over an open flame, guests witness magic as raw food transforms into tasty bites inside a savory cocoon of grill marks. Morsels make a pit stop in one of several dipping sauces, such as sweet and spicy or lemon, before completing their fantastic voyage through the digestive tract. Grillable confections complete the meal by sweetening the palate with gooey s'mores or ice cream topped with caramelized banana medals normally saved for the chimpanzee Olympics.

From the bustling streets of Times Square to the equally vivacious streets of Hong Kong, people walk around with smiles after enjoying the japanese barbecue cuisine at Gyu-Kaku. The restaurant has more than 700 locations worldwide, each rooted in the belief that some of the strongest bonds between friends are forged at the dinner table. Groups dine on a huge variety of Japanese dishes, from popular meat and veggie dishes such as Harami Skirt Steak, Kalbi Short Rib, and Mushroom Medley - to unique Japanese-American appetizers such as the Spicy Tuna Volcano, Pork Gyoza Dumplings, and Chicken Karaage. The real excitement takes place around individual grills, however, where diners can barbecue their own slabs of filet mignon, grilled ahi tuna, or chicken with basil sauce until they are ideally tender or encircled by on-duty firemen.
