Monique's Unique Cakes

Finding the perfect purse is a feat, but finding the perfect purse to eat is almost impossible. Enter baker Monique. She fuses her background as a fashion and accessories designer with her passion for baking to create whimsical 3-D cakes of purses and high heels. But these unique desserts—which earned her a High 5 Badge from Cake Theater—aren’t her only works of art. The talented designer also handcrafts intricate designs on elegant wedding cakes, sport-themed cookies, and cupcakes topped with hyper-realistic bows. To give each treat her signature style, Monique reaches for fresh baking ingredients, such as swiss chocolate, to create 15 different cake flavors including Kahlua mint. She then adds scrumptious fillings, such as chocolate ganache or passionfruit, before topping the sweet treats with a satin ice frosting or fondant pieces hand painted with edible metallic paints.
