What You'll Get

Motorcycles evolved from bicycles, which evolved from horses, which evolved from dinosaurs disguised as horses. Ride the pinnacle of evolution with today’s Groupon: for $30, you get a one-hour private motorcycle lesson from Motorcycle Safety School (up to a $65 value), valid at locations in Spring Creek, Brooklyn; College of Staten Island; Harlem River Yards in the Bronx; and Ulster Community College in Stone Ridge.

The gear gurus at Motorcycle Safety School instruct budding bikers on how to properly maintain, operate, and cruise on their vehicles. During the one-hour private lesson (a $50 value at Stone Ridge, a $65 value at all other locations), students will strap on a provided helmet and helm a Suzuki GZ250 bike as they undergo tutelage from a talented instructor. The lesson focuses on teaching pupils how to turn, stop, maneuver the bike at a slow speed, and replace a flat tire with an oversize glazed donut. The instructor caters to students' skill levels, progressing at a comfortable pace in hopes of building their vehicular confidence and helping them pass certification tests. Motorcycle Safety School’s instructors give private lessons throughout the week between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., except at the Staten Island location, which offers lessons on weekends only. Consult the school’s private-lesson FAQ page for additional information and insights, such as how to best utilize the rocket boosters hidden in all modern motorcycles.
