If you’re sick of brown-bag lunches and greasy office delivery, improve your weekday eats with fresh ingredients and a cozy atmosphere with today’s Groupon: $10 for $20 worth of food, drink, and free WiFi at Moxie.
Moxie’s menu is perfect for your morning intake or weekday lunch. Stroll in as early as 7 a.m. for banana French toast with honey or a bagel piled with lox, cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and capers. If you’re in between important meetings with important people dressed in important suits, pop in to grab pastries and java for the office. Build your own sandwich or salad, or try an imaginative lunch offering such as the P.B.B.J. Club (a masterful interpretation of the classic childhood favorite featuring peanut butter, strawberry jelly, and banana on 3 layers of fresh brioche) and the Goebel Goebel (a turkey on rye with sauerkraut and thousand-island dressing),
Moxie’s charming storefront has homey hardwood floors, exposed industrial ventilation, and a handwritten chalkboard listing Moxie’s offerings. Black booths adorned with quirky wooden details and mismatched floral cushions line the walls. Cuddle up in a booth with a cappuccino or enjoy one of Moxie’s refreshing teas on ice at a charming table beneath the striped awning.
Yelpers think Moxie’s eclectic decor and offerings deserve four stars; Citysearchers give it a near-perfect 4.5: > * Great new little vintage cafe to check out. I live right down the street in an up an comming [sic] area where there is no other thing like it for blocks! The inside is very vintage, clean and cozy. The menu had very a very detailed description of all the items which is a plus. – purplefluff, Citysearch > * Here’s to adding a little character to our meager little city! This lonely stretch of road between Koreatown and Downtown may be the last place one might expect to find such a gem of a shop. Serving excellent drip coffee and featuring a well-curated menu of cheeses, sandwiches, and salads, Moxie and it’s farmhouse-chic aesthetic receive a smackin’ high five from this Yelper. – Patrick J., Yelp > * ANY of their grilled cheeses are awesome, and their pbj club is really a wonderful monster (AND available with or without crusts!) – Deirdre M., Yelp
One Yelper calls Moxie’s PBJ Club a “wonderful monster.” Here are some other wonderful monsters:
- Loch Ness Monster: In addition to being difficult to photograph, it also volunteers at a hotline for runaway teens.
- Sasquatch: In addition to being difficult to photograph, it once safely landed a 747 after the pilot had a heart attack.
- The Chupacabra: In addition to eating its victims’ skin, it also released the charity single “I Want to Eat Your Skin.”
