Photographer Nelson Chaves has a background as dynamic as the images he creates. Born in Rio de Janerio, he became a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, and completed tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan. One career might be enough for some, but not Mr. Chaves, who attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to perfect his technique and refine his eye. Evocative lighting helps to create his striking fashion, advertising, and editorial images, and his calm and pleasant demeanor makes it unlikely that his subjects will need to recite every kind of cheese they've ever tasted.
