A New York premiere, this inventive new adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' 1844 classic adventure novel combines movement, mime, visual projections, live sound effects and an original score to tell the swashbuckling story of Dantes, who's framed for treason by a romantic rival. After 13 years, he escapes from prison and transforms himself into the wealthy Count of Monte Cristo to exact his revenge. The entire cast of 13 is ingeniously involved throughout this New Light Theater Project production at Urban Stages, performing different roles in Monte Cristo's plot.
This show runs two hours, 15 minutes with one intermission, and is appropriate for all ages.
