Like the framework of a mighty skyscraper, the core helps humans hold up the weight of the sky. Stay firm against the firmament with today's Groupon: for $30, you get five one-hour mat or ball classes at Pendleton Pilates's four available locations (a $60 value).

Pendleton’s mixed-level classes involve Pilates fundamentals and floor exercises that employ mats or more challenging balls to develop stability. Pilates can reestablish the harmony that once existed between your mind and body before their bitter quarrel over whose turn it was to wash the dishes. Mat techniques allow flexing bodies to target the core and limbs with time-tested Pilates maneuvers, and exercise balls bring core stability to new levels by adding muscle-toning balance control to the bendy mix. Though some movements may be challenging, the experienced instructors will be there to help students perform to the best of their ability. You can buy up to two Groupons as gifts, so bring friends along to Pendleton Pilates and learn how to spell your favorite three-letter words with your bodies. Check the schedule for times and dates.

About Pendleton Pilates

The instructors at Pendleton Pilates’ four locations teach 125 classes each week, showing students how to elongate and strengthen their muscles on mats and the studio’s reformer machines. During each group or private session, instructors customize workouts that use a rotating selection of 500 core-focused movements developed by Joseph Pilates in 1945. Additional classes include sessions in which students use parallel ballet barres while performing Pilates exercises, as well as spinning classes at the Westchester location.
