About Primi Urban Cafe
Saverio, a native of Palermo, Sicily, learned to speak French in Tunisia, English in London, and Spanish in Central America, but it was not until he bought Primi Urban Cafe in St. Petersburg, Florida, that he achieved his "American dream." Saverio enlists the expertise of his executive chef Tony Macaroni, formerly of The Hyatt International Hotels, to craft traditional Italian fare using simple, locally grown ingredients. The resulting menu of house-made pastas, mozzarella, and USDA Prime-graded steak helped earn Primi Urban Cafe recognition as one of the top 10 restaurants in Tampa Bay on Tampa Bay's Top Ten. Italian wines from the extensive list set off savory flavors with effervescent bubbles, crisp notes of apple, or smokiness from oak-barrel aging.
