Savvy on a shoestring was a little more conservative than my normal style but I did manage to find a gorgeous Tracy Reese dress and some adorable accessories. That being said the staff is helpful without being overbearing. Everyone was friendly and smiling. It was overall a very pleasant experience and I will definitely be shopping here again.

Great clothes, like stapler removers or Hulk hands, won't make the difference between life and death, but once you have them, they're hard to live without. Acquire a smashing passion with today's Groupon: for $50, you get $100 worth of clothes and accessories at Savvy on a Shoestring on West 1st Avenue, open on Fridays and Saturdays or by appointment.

Savvy on a Shoestring is a mother-and-daughter boutique that showcases fashions for women from size four to 20. Drape your inner damsel, fashionable femme, or couture cutie in designer duds that don’t cause anguished piggy-bank squealing. Breeze through offices, cafés, or dormant wind tunnels in a designer dress to relieve legs of their winter-long denim imprisonment ($45–$175). A flock of new purses flaunts the colors of spring like May Day costumes or defiant Visigoths ($175–$450). And get ready for the beach or pool with designer sunglasses, the chic way to avoid UV rays, paparazzi hassles, and the accusatory stare of empty cookie jars ($50–$200).
