Very bad experience with the SeaSteak. We went on 26th september. The last ship to NYC was cancelled. The bus driver and the announcer in the ship told us that there is a ship at 2:30 pm to NYC and the bus for it will pick us up from Gunnison beach at 1:45 pm. All of us reached the jetty within 2 pm only to find that ship will be at 3:30 pm. We had to wait for 1.5 hours at the jetty for no reason.
Dear Sea Streak
On September 26th, , We was on the 8:15AM Sea Streak to Sandy hook. Upon boarding the ship, they announced that they were going to Highlands (vs. Sandy hook) , and from , take the bus to Sandy hook beach . That wasn’t the issue since the Visiting Pope delayed our departure for like 45minutes if not all departures out of NYC.
Once we got on to the Highlands, we told on board the bus that the 7:45PM boat was Cancelled and there was only the 2:30PM and 4:45PM Board.
Around 1:30 or so, we decided to leave since it was getting a little chilly at the beach. We got on line and waited for the 2:30PM bus. – The (same) bus driver drove us back to the Highlands. At the station, We were greeted by ANN MARIE who informed us that there IS NO 2:30PM (boat) and there IS a 3:30PM boat. She apologized for any inconveniences this might have caused. But people will be people they will get their voices heard.
Well, as you can see, that created some angry issues with customers. Some were understanding like me, some were very upset and started reaming Ann Marie out. Ann Marie left for a brief period to see what was going on or see if anything can be done. She came back and said only thing they/she can do at this point was to give free water and 50% off food products. Still, some riders were not pleased.
I am 51 years old and worked in the customer industries majority of my life and had my share of “Delays”, I can relate with her. I pulled her aside and told Ann Marie to dropped it and relax. I can see how upset she was for something is is beyond her control and the lack of communication had caused her. I also told her to have the customers contact the Corporate office and let them deal with it since you are getting your firsthand information from the chain of command., Chief operating officer who should have had communicated with all parties involved of the change.
Please give my warm regards and our compliments to Ann Marie at Highlands’s terminal for handling the matter professionally.
Going forward, I would recommend that they put a script in place such as “due to mechanical issue, the 2:30pm boat will arrive at 3:30 pm. Sorry for any ….”

Detours. Construction crews. An unwavering gridlock of honking horns. None of these affect the team at Seastreak. They ease work commutes and transportation woes by taking a different road: the water. Seastreak's captains have five high-speed ferries at their disposal, four of which can transport more than 500 passengers at a time. Multiple ships means multiple destinations, and the captains regularly go between Manhattan, New Jersey, Sandy Hook Bay, and Martha's Vineyard, among many other routes.
Each of the double-hulled catamarans has indoor and outdoor decks, which look out on panoramic views of the NYC skyline. The ships also go on formal sightseeing expeditions, cruising towards wonders such as the Hudson River's fall foliage, fireworks over the harbor, and buoys that look like rearing sea serpents if you squint.
