What You'll Get

The best part about eating Asian dishes is the confidence that comes when billions of people tacitly support your culinary decision; the second-best part is that their chefs can see the future. Enjoy foresighted fare with today's deal. For $15, you get $30 worth of Asian cuisine and accompanying beverages at Silk. Citysearch named this Midtown dining destination Best Pan Asian Food in Atlanta in 2007, and Wine Spectator magazine granted Silk an Award of Excellence.

For Executive Chef Kochi Chiba, preparing a dinner at Silk is easy as pie stuffed with crab meat, drizzled in berry ponzu sauce, and baked in a cloud of lightning. By focusing on traditional dishes from a variety of regions, Silk’s extensive menu gathers symphonies of savory spice alongside elegantly simple flavor profiles to accommodate a range of visiting palates. Sample one of Silk's Pan-Asian-style tapas plates such as Shanghai spring rolls—mixed veggies and seafood encased in a fried pastry shell with mango vinaigrette, ($6)—or a salt and pepper chicken wing served up Hong Kong style ($6). Silk also serves up adorable sliders for dainty handheld consumption, such as the tender marinated Kobe burger sliders ($12). Heartier dishes consist of noodle or fried rice dishes ($11–$15), sushi and sashimi dinners ($18–$40), or a variety of main plates featuring savory Korean beef short ribs ($24), a refreshing duo of diver scallops and shrimp with garlic butter ($22), and more.

The journey to Far East flavors begins in Silk's grand entranceway, adorned by streaming waterfalls flowing serenely unto the sensory receptors. Cozy round booths and other fine furniture adorn more than 5,000 square feet of dining space. Lifelong friends pull a chair up to Silk's elegant glass-backed bar as newfound lovers tuck away in the soft evening light, emerging only to dance under the stars or play Marco Polo in the waterfalls.

Wine Spectator gave Silk an Award of Excellence, and Gayot offers this rave review:

  • Executive chef Kochi Chiba is a master of the kaiseki dining tradition; order his omakase dinner to taste a variety of flavors...Topnotch sushi---especially the white tuna, mackerel and sea urchin---is gloriously presented. – Gayot

Citysearchers awarded Silk the title of Best Atlanta Pan Asian Food in 2007 and give the restaurant an average of four stars. OpenTable users give it a four-star average as well, and Yelpers give 3.5. Seventy percent of Urbanspooners recommend the restaurant:

  • Silk has great food combinations, from their excellent sushi to seafood to steak...The staff are well-versed in these food selections as well as the great wine list. And you'll probably see the owners, too. They're both extra gracious and ready to insure [sic] your experience is everything you wanted. – Michael Frizzell, Urbanspoon
  • For my meal, I ordered the Kobe burger. I would have to say it was the most juicy and flavorful burger I had ever tasted. – matl, Citysearch
  • Please try the chocolate caramel apple for dessert - what a light, filling, crisp and delicious way to end a sushi meal. – OpenTable user who dined on 01/16/2010
