Skiing allows for a range of new challenges, from beginners inching nervously down bunny slopes to experts doing moguls off Mount Everest's potholes. Search for the perfect run with today's Groupon: for $15, you get an all-day skiing or snowboarding lift ticket at Sleepy Hollow Sports Park (up to a $30 value). The resort is open in the evenings on Wednesday through Friday and all day on the weekends, including holidays.

Sleepy Hollow Sports Park sprawls over 80 acres of fields and mountains buzzing with a variety of year-round activities, from go-karts and bumper boats to downhill sledding. During the winter months, Mother Nature and her trusty snow machines transform the park into a skiing and snowboarding sanctuary, where a quad chair lift and two rope tows lead to well-groomed runs catered to all experience levels. Beginning skiers can allay their snow phobias with free lessons from trained instructors, and more advanced riders can catch air off jumps and rails and slam-dunk it back into the trees that made it. A ski patrol remains on duty all day, even through the brightly lit nighttime hours, ready to assist during medical emergencies or help visitors recover their valuable lost zipper pulls.

Peg M. · August 23, 2014
It's an OK place to get some practice with snowboarding/skiing. Not necessarily the best place to learn as it is very icy. Very economical and is the closest option in Des Moines.
