Public performance is America's greatest fear because of the frequency of mid-speech tackling and the audience showering the stage with painful Golden Globes. Witness fearless showmanship with today's Groupon to the State Theatre, located in New Brunswick. Choose from the following shows:

A renovated 1921 vaudeville and silent-film palace, the State Theatre vivifies New Jersey’s cultural landscape with a collage of festivals, Broadway shows, and contemporary performances. Set against the epic melodies of a Tchaikovsky score, the Russian National Ballet Theatre wordlessly presents Romeo and Juliet with a troupe of 50 dancers leaping, pirouetting, and suppressing the desire to sing love songs by The Cardigans. Pre-teen piano sensation Ethan Bortnick, the youngest performer to ever headline his own performance at the State Theatre, will entertain audiences by tickling the ivories until they harmoniously chuckle time-treasured tunes, including Mozart's "Ala Turka," The Beatles' "Let it Be," and Francis Scott Key's "We Built This City." For sock-hoppers, the Rock & Roll Reunion Concert brings together party-inducing pioneers such as Lou Christie, The Vogues, and The Cookies to transport crowds back in time with nostalgia-filled sound waves.

Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket for admission.

State Theatre New Jersey

The State Theatre New Jersey was saved, as its website states, from "the ravages of time." Built in 1921 as a vaudeville and silent-film palace, the venue fell on hard times in the 1970s. In 2003, however, a $3 million renovation restored the State Theatre New Jersey to much of its original glory, as crews painstakingly rehabbed the ornamental plaster, terracotta exterior, and actor holding cells. Inside the theater, a stunning chandelier sparkles more brightly than ever below the venue's signature dome.

Great! The only downside was that the seats were a little far from the stage but it was a great price!
