About Surfs Up
With Surfs Up NY and Surfs Up LA, instructors Peter and Edward bring surfing experience gathered in destinations including Hawaii, Tahiti, and Indonesia to the beaches of New York and Los Angeles. The pair conduct private, two-person, and group lessons for kids and adults at Rockaway Beach in Queens, New York, and Santa Monica in LA. The instructors—who are also Certified Lifeguards—begin with 10 minutes of instruction on dry land so students can learn introductory maneuvers and ocean-safety pointers. Teacher and student then take to the waves for at least 60 minutes of dedicated surfing time.
