What You'll Get
Widely agreed upon as the best fare to eat when hungry, a sushi dinner is more than an opportunity to practice chopstick puppetry skills. Enjoy a fulfilling feast with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of sushi and drinks at Sushi on the Rocks, located at 235 S. Meridian St.
Sushi on the Rocks features fresh Japanese cuisine and sushi, a full drink menu, and live jazz and blues. Loosen up with some sake, a martini, or one of the amalgamated sake martinis featured on the extensive drink menu. Start off with a classic and intelligence-enhancing miso soup ($3), or sample an appetizer such as spicy tuna tataki ($13) or red snapper carpaccio ($12). The sushi selection consists of 60 nigiri and maki choices, as well as a number of special rolls diced by a knife so sharp it actually cuts through time to deliver rolls from eight minutes in the future. Special rolls include the fire dragon roll and the oshizushi roll (three kinds of fish topped with masago and spicy mayo). To infuse music into a culinary adventure, visit the restaurant between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday for live blues and jazz.
Like a school of enthusiastic fish, Sushi on the Rocks' enthusiastic servers enthusiastically swim through the dining room to greet, seat, and serve you. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and immortal, and is more than happy to help select the ideal meal from the diverse menu.

About Sushi on the Rocks
Sushi on the Rocks pleases the palates, eyes, and ears of patrons with fresh Japanese fare, refreshing libations, and live jazz tunes. Owner John J. Lee crafts nearly 80 nigiri and maki options that range from sweet fresh fruit sushi to elaborate specialty rolls, such as the spicy tuna, tempura shrimp, and asparagus bundled into the Playboy roll. Entrees include grilled chicken drenched in teriyaki sauce, teriyaki steak or chicken options, and new specialty rolls such as the Mexican roll with shrimp tempura, and mixed crab, which is topped with spicy tuna, avocado, and mango. Thirst-quenching hot sake can warm chilled throats and the hearts of fish-loving misers, while more than 10 varieties of wines spare diners the arduous task of juicing their own raisins. Melodies swim through the elegant dining room Thursday and Saturday evenings, tickling eardrums with the sounds of jazz.
