What You'll Get
Colonists asserted their independence at the Boston Tea Party by lulling British officers to sleep with cups of chamomile and drawing marker mustaches on their faces. Harness the revolutionary power of tea with today’s Groupon: for $12, you get an afternoon tea at The Tea Leaf in Waltham (a $23 value). Afternoon tea includes:
- One endless pot of tea
- An assortment of scones, mini quiches, tea sandwiches, and sweets<p>
The Tea Leaf’s English-style tearoom hosts afternoon sipping sessions filled with fragrant draughts of tea served in porcelain and china teacups and teapots. Guests perch atop any of the room’s 20 seats as they tuck into a three-course experience filled with tea, snacks, and conversation marked by a distinct Derbyshire accent. Guests can select their teapot’s filling from a plethora of tea families, including black, green, white, oolong, and caffeine-free fruit and herbal tisanes.
Warm scones slide onto glass-topped tables accompanied by freshly made sweet cream and strawberry preserves. Sips of tea follow bites of the mini quiches, whose vegetarian caviar garnish respectfully refuses to eat meat, as well as nibbles of assorted savories and sweets. Peach-colored walls bedecked with art prints and distinctive teacups surround sippers during the traditional noontime affair, which is illuminated by the glow of candles and seasonally decorated tabletops.
