About The Dark Horse Lounge

Although The Dark Horse Lounge opened its doors only in 2011, the owner and her family have also been an important part of the Hayward community. The owner, Jennifer Sommer, is a Hayward native and granddaughter of Ralph Sommer—the owner of the Holiday Bowl, a landmark place with bowling lanes, restaurants, bar, and banquet facilities that operated from 1958 to 2005. And although the Holiday Bowl is no more, the family tradition lives on in the form of The Dark Horse Lounge. Equipped with a Touchtunes jukebox, six TVs, two dartboards, and a pool table, The Dark Horse Lounge is a great spot for a variety of events and occasions—or no occasion at all. The Dark Horse Lounge holds trivia nights, karaoke, and DJ & live music nights, making it the best place to meet or make friends.
