What You'll Get
A plane ticket to Ireland is prohibitively expensive, and the flight attendant won’t let you drink, sing, or knit her dog an Aran sweater. Visit Ireland without going airborne with today's Groupon to Emerald Restaurant. Choose between two options:
- $60 for a four-course Emerald cart dinner for two (a $175.50 value)
- $199 for Paddy O'Cupid's Valentine's delightful complete feast for two (a $450 value)
The Emerald Restaurant invites diners into its re-creation of an authentic Irish cottage for romantic, family-style Irish dinners rooted in traditional recipes. The four-course prix fixe cart dinner for shamrock-lined stomachs starts with potato soup before fresh garden vegetables and the Kinsale-Chateaubriand—a thick cut of tenderloin—arrive at the table on Irish china. Homemade Irish-whiskey cake provides the gastronomic grand finale.
Hungry Valentines are presented with Irish soda bread served with strawberry butter, double portions of Chateaubriand, New Zealand rack of lamb encrusted with garlic and breadcrumbs, and broiled lobster tails draped in clarified butter sauce. Along with vegetables and potatoes, the meats are carved and flambéed tableside. The romantic dinner experience, highlighted by the presentation of a dozen long-stemmed roses and tables designed to accommodate games of footsy, can be finished with a two-forked assault on a heart-shaped dessert of Belgian chocolate with Irish marmalade. Avoid impulses to barge in unannounced whilst wailing away on a squeezebox and call ahead to reserve your table.
Best of Citysearch named Emerald Restaurant the Best Romantic Date Spot in 2008 and Best Romantic Dining in 2006. The restaurant was featured in Dining Out With Rob Balon. Citysearchers give it a 4.5-star average rating, and Yelpers give it an average of 3.5 stars.
- This is my new favorite place. A family owned restaurant with terrific service, lovely interior and fantastic food and wine. – elizr, Citysearch
- The main entree stole the show--tender slices of beef with mushroom sauce and buttery, delicious vegetables and of course, an Irish potato on the side. They flambee [sic] the meal in front of you--that was neat. – Valerie L., Yelp

About The Emerald Restaurant
The Emerald Restaurant's quaint cottage, just minutes from Hill Country Galleria and Lake Travis, flings open its wooden doors to welcome diners into a fairy-tale-like milieu rich with Irish china, lace tablecloths, and fine crystal. Originally built as a private residence, The Emerald Restaurant has enjoyed 30 years as a community landmark under the ownership of the Kinsella family. Just like lunch in elementary school, most meals are presented on a silver platter, showcasing European-style and modern American cuisine including steaks, lobster, fish, and duck. The intimate space sets a romantic mood that frequently attracts wedding proposals and exchanges of everlasting-platonic-friendship rings.
