Choose from Three Options
- $199 for an SDI open-water certification course for one (a $500 value)
- $350 for an SDI open-water certification course for two (a $1,000 value)
- $100 for a refresher course for divers already certified (a $210 value)
The open-water scuba-certification course includes independent study with e-learning materials as well as time with an instructor. Students must purchase their own e-learning materials from SDI. Divers start out with in-pool training, before moving to a nearby body of water. Here, instructors help students make two shallow water dives. Students then make two open water dives from a boat. Instructors supply tanks and scuba equipment, except for wetsuit, mask, snorkel, and fins. A new session begins on the first and third Mondays of each month.
The refresher course, for divers that are certified but are seeking further practice and instruction, includes a classroom session, one pool session, and a boat trip with two dives.
World of Scuba
Florida is home to some iconic locations, but beneath its various waters, the Sunshine State is a different world, largely untouched by man. North Florida has fresh water diving caves. Central Florida's rivers brim with manatees and other creatures. And of course, the Atlantic Ocean hugs the coast, containing everything from reefs to colorful fish to shipwrecks converted to the bachelor pads of eligible mermen.
World of Scuba helps divers explore all of these aquatic destinations. Led by owner and scuba industry veteran Bob Meadows, the certified instructors train divers in pools, shallow waters, and open waters until they obtain various PADI and TDI certifications. They also charter scuba trips and plan custom diving itineraries.
