Not great! I'm hugely disappointed. Room is quite basic and not luxury, which I would have expected. Order some starters and sides off rhe room service, I had to wait 90 minutes to be told they didn't have some of the order in stock to cook. I only found out when I rang to chase the food. No food menu in the room and I could not find online. I had to send an WhatsApp message to reception so they could send me the menu. Just not very customer friendly. I am glad I am staying here on business as I would NOT come here for a relaxing spa break!

Poor service No hot water in the shower and bath. Had to boil a kettle to have a wash. Could not unplug the sink, so couldn’t rinse after washing. Reported this to reception but no action taken. On check out was offered a mild apology. I was not impressed and expected better customer service from a hotel of this quality. Not happy!

Not for kids!! Not for kids. We recently stayed at the Mercury Hotel, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience for our family. The primary reason we chose this hotel was for the pool, expecting our kids to be able to enjoy it throughout the day. To our surprise, children are only allowed in the pool from 8am to 10am, which was never made clear at the time of booking. Two short hours in the early morning is hardly reasonable, especially when traveling with young children on vacation. Aside from the pool restriction, there is very little here to keep children entertained. There are virtually no amenities tailored to families—no kids’ play area, no games room, and certainly no family-friendly atmosphere. It quickly became clear that the hotel is designed primarily for older couples seeking a quiet, adult-oriented environment. While the property itself is clean and the staff was courteous, we felt completely out of place and misled. If you’re a family with children, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. Mercury Hotel is not family-friendly and fails to deliver on the few offerings it promotes. For the price we paid, we expected much more in terms of accommodation for all guests—not just retirees.

No return visit for us. Folng on from a review LandsBritupNorth left almost 2 years ago, I can assure prospective guests that nothing has been improved. The hotel is dirty in areas , shabby and in need of renovation. The carpets through stairs and landing are stained. General feeling of grubbiness. The receptionist was slow and incompetent. The queue was getting impatient and eye-rolling to each other. We stayed for our daughter's wedding, which fortunately was NOT held here. The only saving grace was the attentive and friendly staff at breakfast.
