Holiday Inn Express Acworth - Kennesaw Northwest by IHG

Horrible I was charged 16,000 points for this stay but in my opinion it wasnt worth more than 10,000. You should be embarrassed about chargung 16,000. In addition, I was not given my welcome points. This despite 2 requests before leaving the hotel, a phone call to the hotel, and an inquiry in the IHG app. I finally got the points after contacting IHG customer service. Stayed here on the way to Atlanta and fortunately I was there less than 10 hours. There are signs all over saying the hotel is undergoing renovations yet the only sign of a possible renovation was cardboard in the elevator. There is definitely a lot of wear and tear and it could benefit from some TLC. The breakfast was embarrassing. It contained some turkey sausage, some sausage links, barely any fruit, cereal but no milk, no eggs, small assortment of debatable bread products and pre-packaged cinnamon rolls - not the ones they are known for. When I inquired about the lackluster breakfast options I was told they "missed a food truck". If that's the case you could go out and purchase all of the above options at the grocery store. I'll never stay here again and I recommend you keep going down 75 in either direction to have a quality stay - if even for a night.

Nasty Room smelled musty. Went down at 7 for breakfast. Eggs gone and they didn’t have anymore. Went back to room and bed had several small spiders in it. Will stay elsewhere next time through Georgia on our way to Florida.

No services; inaccurate reservation We called to reserve 2 beds on the first floor. When we arrived, they didn’t have ANY 2 beds on the first floor. We were traveling from Florida to Minnesota and needed to keep our cold food cold and our ice packs frozen. 1) the refrigerators in the room did not have a freezer and 2) they WOULD NOT allow us to put them in their freezer!! VERY, VERY UNHAPPY. I expect that these are things that should be provided for travelers. ______

COLD BREAKFAST that should have been hot! The room was very clean & spacious. Staff was friendly. The reason for a 3 rating is breakfast was not a full typical Holiday Inn Express breakfast. No pancake machine. The food (eggs, meat, biscuits & gravy) were stone cold!!!!! There was not the option of heating them up in the microwave. Not acceptable.

Returning from Florida We had a warm welcome and helpful desk person who helped us find dinner downtown. Our departure the following morning was very unpleasant as the night/morning desk person insisted we wear a mask to take advantage of their breakfast buffet. He physically blocked our access to the buffet. The CDC had lifted the mask mandate just days before and we haven’t worn masks throughout the pandemic.
