As grim as it gets... you'd do better at the Bates Motel! I booked one night for my wife and I in early May, and we turned up early afternoon. The chaotic reception desk couldn't find the reservation, but we were allocated a double room anyway. On the reservation website it states (and continues to state, to this day!): A daily hot breakfast, an outdoor pool, and free Wi-Fi are provided at this hotel for guests’ enjoyment. Er... No, No and No. The place is musty, and reeks of stale cigarette smoke, despite the signs declaring it to be a non-smoking hotel. No suprise to later spot the reception staff (a clutch of people who appear to be auditioning for a remake of the Addams family) hovering outside, all merrily puffing away. An outdoor pool? Yes, it exists, but it's bone-dry, clearly hasn't been used for years and the gate is chained up. A daily hot breakfast? That's a laugh! There's no breakfast at all, never mind 'hot'! "We're working on it," said the reception woman. "Maybe tomorrow." So, on a one-night stay, en route to the coast, we were being urged to drive back the next morning, when some breakfast might be available. It is approaching a scandal that reservation sites still list this place. We expressed our disappointment to the reception staff, who said that the owner lived on the first floor of the hotel, and that they had repeatedly asked him to delete the claims of services on the website. For the record, we were promised a swimming pool and breakfast, and received neither. Nor were we given any discount. This place is positioned somewhere on the scale between the Overlook Hotel in The Shining and The Bates Motel from Psycho. Even the corridor looks like it's out of Kubrick's film. Lord only knows what's going on in some of the rooms - people shuffle in an out at all hours, the guy in the next-door room had his telly on all night, and anyone we encountered in the corridor seemed completely off their gourd. A sign on the way in says No Concealed Firearms. This is the only place I've stayed in the States where I actually felt I needed one. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable enough to eventually get to sleep, and there was shampoo in the sachets. I walked out to get ice for the ground-floor room we'd been given - but the ice machine downstairs wasn't working, and didn't look like it had been for months. I checked at reception. "Use the one upstairs," I was told. I walked up the stairs, admiring the threadbare carpets, held together with tape (the owner can't have invested so much as a cent in this place), and the upstairs ice machine did, finally, work. But there's no security in this place. The side door, where guests can supposedly come and go direct to the car parking area, was open to anyone caring to push it! The receptionist claimed that they had messaged the reservation website to tell them, on several occasions, to change the wording on their description. I simply don't buy that. You can't blame a reservation website for the failings at this shabby embarrassment of a hotel. Looking back, we laugh about this now. But it wasn't a joke at the time.

Hard to believe this place is allowed to listed as a hotel Place had the look of a crack house. Rooms smelled, beds were broken, lights didn't work, holes in shower. Place was a disaster and we left after checking in. Found another place to stay. I would avoid it at all cost. Had a guy in a ski mask come up to us and we jumped in our car to avoid any problems. Front desk said they couldn't do anything for us as it was booked thru someone other than them

This place should be closed down. Where do I begin! This hotel was not clean, smelled of smoke, and had duck tape on a ton of the carpet going up the stairs. The outside door needed no key to enter, so anyone could walk in off the street. The room we were give had a Do not disturb sign on the door and the tv was on. There was a hole in the door where the peep hole should have been! You could see straight inside! The bed was flat on the floor and not on a bed frame. There appeared to be a hooker and guy come in together….__‍♀️ We didn’t stay!! We were told we could get our money back, however 4 days later, the manager has yet to refund or return our calls. I would not leave my dog at this hotel!

Friendly and Knowledgeable This is by far the best bang for your buck. The staff went way above and beyond to accommodate! One of the sure fire perks was they are pet friendly you really can't find these types of amenities anymore.

Great Value, Great Staff! My dog and I stayed here for a few weeks in Feb and March when travelling for work, and I was very pleased with my stay, ESPECIALLY the staff. Breakfast is simple but there was always a good supply of cereal, oatmeal, and some fruit to choose from. Hotel was clean, and room attendants were pleasant and super-helpful (especially Mia, who took care of my room). Robert the super was always busy fixing and making improvements, and I took comfort in hearing him humming a tune as he went about his day. Susan, the manager, ran a tight ship, perhaps a deterrent for some folks who are often attracted to lower-cost hotels who expect rudeness and discourtesy to be tolerated-- I appreciated her oversight! The front desk staff--every one of them I had contact with (Leslie, Alyssa, both Michelles, Lauren, and Erika) was beyond helpful, and it was nice to have found a place where I could show up every day and everybody already knew who I was, what room I was in, and was eager to make my stay easier. When I first arrived and throughout the stay, I needed to switch rooms once, and I had a snafu with the washer-- these things happen, but it is how the staff deals with the issue that makes it or breaks it. Five stars from me for a great value and amazing staff all around!
