Visit to Great Sand dunes National Park During our recent visit to Great Sand Dunes National Park, my husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Alamosa. Overall, our experience was a mixture of highs and lows. Upon arrival, we encountered a setback as our first room (Room number 131) had a noticeable cigarette odor. My husband has asthma, so that was a concern. However, the hotel staff promptly addressed our concern and efficiently relocated us to a different room (217), which we really appreciated. Throughout our stay, one of the notable downsides was the road noise that persisted through the evening, which occasionally disrupted our rest. There was also a random disturbance around 11 pm. resembling a generator, which was quite unexpected. Despite these setbacks, the room itself was comfortable and adequately furnished, providing a decent level of comfort during our stay. We particularly enjoyed the amenities such as the hot tub and pool, which provided a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring the sand dunes. Another highlight of our stay was the complimentary breakfast offered by the hotel. It offered a variety of options. In conclusion, while our experience at Holiday Inn Express had its challenges, the responsive staff and comfortable accommodations ultimately made our stay enjoyable. The proximity to Great Sand Dunes National Park and the pleasant amenities offered added value to our trip.

VERY LOUD TRAFFIC NOISE Turn 4 at Talladega. That was the traffic noise level at this hotel. There’s a traffic light on the highway right next to the hotel. Stop and go all night. We live in the country and this was the loudest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We had our white noise machine turned up all the way and could still hear the traffic.

Noise can be an Issue Booked a king suite for $270. The Room was okay but the air conditioning was super loud. It was so loud I used ear plugs but it still woke me up 3 times when the compressor came on. Even the window vibrated. Also only one elevator. I will not return.

Don’t do it, you’ll be disappointed. Don’t know how they can keep the name Holiday Inn Express Arrived after driving and working all day around 4:30 pm. Birthday no less, so I was ready to relax and enjoy my visit to Alamosa, Checked in got room cards and proceeded down the hallway. Upon entering room my wife immediately saw there was food crumbs all over the floor. Well that being the case couldn’t imagine housekeeping actually changing the sheets. I returned to front desk to complain, after waiting 15! minutes someone with a vacuum walked in, She tells me “that wasn’t there when I cleaned it earlier” I took it as she was blaming me! Of course I went to front desk and demanded a different room. They gave me another key and once on the elevator with my wife and luggage we got off and to my surprise it was a handicap room. Having just paid $200+ for the room and another $100 for immunities, I was not going to stay here. Not sure what immunities would be as there isn’t a restaurant or bar. It’s a scam! Went around the corner to a very professional establishment the Fairfield. Same prices and luxury room. Lesson learned in this town.
