Great For A Short Stay The hotel is located in a so-so area. Nothing says time to go to you room than people begging for money while you are unloading your car. Once inside though, everything is fine, room gets the job done and the neighborhood is very quiet.

Wouldn't repeat Holes in walls. AC struggles. Sheets were clean but hotel overall struggled with cleanliness. Artwork had been removed from room and brackets remained. Got a weird pool overlook room that overlooked a dark, dystopian, closed pool. Great value for $120 or whatever I paid, but I wouldn't do it again.

Different management, not so good now For years, this has been our first choice whenever we've come to ABQ. Not anymore. It's been through different management, and the one right now I'm not so sure. Let me share my most recent experience. First, we accidentally booked one extra night through Choice Hotel, and it was non-refundable. In the past, we still could call directly to cancel it, but not now. Okay, the rules are stricter now, it's our fault so I don't protest. But when we first called right after the mistake, it was okay'd; the front desk said he'd email the confirmation. We were happy and appreciative. It wasn't until a day or two later when we didn't see any confirmation that we asked again, and just like that the front desk (a different person) shrugged, "It can't be canceled." No apologies, no explanation, despite my constant explanation that it was okay'd before. Second, I suspect they're understaffed. During a night I stayed, I found the fire detector in the room was beeping (battery) so I went to the front desk. It was a Chinese man, a nice guy with good service, and he offered to change me to another room. I was surprised and asked where the maintenance was, and he said at night there was no maintenance at all. I have absolutely no problem changing the room, but I remember in the past when we had problems with something, the maintenance would come and help even during the night. Now there's no one whatsoever? What if something more serious happens and no more room to switch to? I guess everything costs more so they need to save money. A bit sad though, we liked this hotel.

I inconvenienced the staff by requesting a refund! I tried not to write a review, but the lady at the front desk on 06/17 at 8:50 am reading the caller ID and ignoring my phone call just pissed me off. I rented a room through a third-party, and thought I presented my credit card for incidentals, but was charged the daily room rate. The young man I initially talked to was so very helpful, unfortunately he didn't have the power to issue a refund, and the remaining staff had me calling for to weeks straight trying to catch Ceaser, because as the staff stated, he won't call you back. After refusing to hang up after being sent back to the front desk again after being transferred to Ceaser, I was finally helped when the woman told me that she was the "other manager". I was issued the refund, but now have a pending charge from the hotel for the same amount. I called to have it canceled, and whoever is answering the phone said, "I don't know, call your bank." I called back for clarification and have now been blatantly ignored. Will update if charged for a third time.

Shady business practice. Don't give your money to these crooks. I made future reservations for this place in advance. They cancelled my reservations because the rate i booked was not as high as other hotels. They didn't triple the nightly rate before i made the reservations. They claim it was a glitch. Shady. Go stay at the Best Western across the street instead.
