The best service My visit to the Econo Lodge was wonderful, everything was clean, the staff were very kind. The complimentary breakfast was a great way to start my day. I spent 3 days and 4 nights here alone while visiting Albuquerque and I found it to be affordable, in a great location, very quiet, and had various restaurants within walking distance. I was able to visit the Old Town to explore, I went to the Albuquerque Museum which was also near by. The only trouble I had in the hotel was switching the bottom shower faucet to the shower head. The bed was cozy the pillows were comfortable, and the TV kept me entertained at night. I highly recommend this place, 5 stars for me.

Stay somewhere else! Where to begin? The poor clerk was having computer issues all weekend and had one heck of a time checking my Mom in on 6/2. We got to the room and the thermostat is set at 75 and won't change. Apparently the fancy new thermostat is so complicated, you have to have an employee come and change it. The phone was dead. The light switch outside the bathroom is broken and you have to punch it to turn the light on. The shower head is either broken or non-existent because water rushes out everywhere. No mat in the tub. It was wrapped up in the corner of the bathroom and looked as if it was very old. The one bright spot - the beds were comfortable. Overall, I do not recommend this place.

Lost a Repeat Customer We had a reservation for one of the suites. When we arrived, we were informed they didn't have the room we booked available and tried to put us in a smaller room. I declined the other room, but they refused to cancel my reservation even though they were the ones that made a mistake. They charged my card as a "no show". I had to call Choice Hotels customer service for a resolution. We have stayed there every year for the river of lights, and I have recommended it to other people in the past for the location close to Old Town. Never again. I recommend you stay somewhere that will honor your reservation.

AVIOD THIS PLACE! I have been a loyal choice customer for quite a number of years. I was down in Albuquerque to conduct business and checked into the reviews of this hotel. I decided to reserve a room and proceeded to have one of the worst experiences in all my years of traveling. I don’t expect to be wined and dined when I pick a hotel but the customer service I received upon checking in and the action taken by the real manager tell me this hotel should be avoided at all cost especially if you are a service disabled military veteran with a service dog to assist you! I tried to check in and the Harpie Karen twit behind the desk, who misidentified herself as a manger, refused to check me in to the reserved room since I had a pet with me. I explained and my dog was clearly identified as my service dog and she proceeded to try and overcharge me for a room with two beds that pets were permitted to stat in! A clear violation of the ADA. Back and forth finally I decided to go to a different hotel and would advise anyone not trying to get ripped off or being treat like crap to avoid this place like the plague. I have taken a photo of the real managers response black listing me and telling me to use another hotel in the future! Awesome business practice! Do not recommend for people with disabilities, veterans or anyone who gives a damn about being treat like a human being! AVOID THIS PLACE!!

Exceptionally bad property We stayed here for 2 nights from 24 May 2023 to 26 May 2023 in Econo Lodge Old Town, which is located near to the old town on historic US Route 66. We found the area to be bit sketchy with lot of homeless and drug addicts around, asking for donations. We went out in the evening and soon got back into the hotel as I found it not to be safe. There was one guy asking for donations, even inside the hotel compound. Check-in was smooth, however, my credit card was declined and the reception lady took deposit of USD 100. While checking out, I had to remind the duty staff about the deposit and she was not aware where the money was kept. So, she called the duty staff at the time of check-in and I had to wait for about 10 minutes to get the money back. When I went through the reviews, I understand that deposit refund is often an issue with this hotel. Imagine if you forget to claim it. Room was so dirty and the wooden floor inside the room was not cleaned. Furniture was outdated and shabby. The mattress sagged to the middle and it was as if I was lying in a pit. Bathroom room was also very dirty and the shower head was broken without cover and covered with rust. Water was gushing out as from a tap. Toiletries were sub-standard and we used our own soap and shampoo. I have attached a few photographs of the mattress, bathroom shower, corridor and breakfast area. Breakfast was included and it was served as if in a jail for prison inmates. The breakfast area next to the lobby was under renovation and they had created a barricade with tables and guests were standing around. You had to tell the lady standing inside with your requirements like coffee, juice, waffles, cereals etc. Few of the items like eggs, bread, fruits etc. were kept on the table and you had to collect everything in a small paper plate and take it to your room as there was no dining area. You can take only a few items in the paper plate and you had to balance it with the glass of coffee in the other hand and take it all the way to your room upstairs. Room was provided with a TV, mini refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, iron box with board Wi-Fi included, iron with board. Some lights and switches were not working. The corridors were not cleaned in the near future and two garbage trolleys were kept near the staircase. There was lot of noise coming into the room from outside. I guess there was some drunken guys staying next to our room. We could also hear the talk from the other room. There was plenty of parking, which is free. The reception lady at the time of check-in behaved very rude and I was wondering how they can afford to be so rude, especially, when you are running a hotel in such a dilapidated condition. I find that most of the issues I have listed out here are common issues, which are repeated in several reviews and it shows how serious the management is in resolving those issues. So, these are perennial issues and I can only advise you to stay away from this dirty, sub-standard property.
