Not the best option for Alexandria The second floor room we had which was down at the end farthest from the lobby smelled like fried food when we got there and then later smelled of fried fish. It wasn’t the restaurant since u have to go outside to get to my section. The door had to be smacked to open as it stuck. Pretty tired place. The room was clean though. Friends stayed at other places in Alexandria that were newer and better maintained. Because I was in a wedding block The breakfast was taken off so we went out. They didn’t ask me about it when I booked so I don’t know if I would have gone for the breakfast rate or not. The friends hotel nearby had breakfast.

Worst Customer Service Ever We stayed at this hotel for a family wedding. It's cheap lodging - my expectations were low. And, unfortunately, they did not meet my expectations. My room had a musty odor. Despite having the air conditioning on, my bedding felt damp the whole not (HVAC issue?). Service in the restaurant was poor and the food was cold when it arrived. Overall, just not impressed - not the end of the world. My daughter left her airpods at the hotel. She can see on her app that they are in the building. After calling for a whole week with no response, she got in touch with Laurie - the front desk manager, who refused to help her. I called and spoke to Laurie myself. Got the run-around -she's the manager but she's not in charge. That's a different department. Very rude- laughed at me when I asked if someone could just take a look. Was dismissive, rude and unhelpful. I think the place is just very poorly run.

Let’s be honest Let’s be honest…. This hotel is more like a Motel 6. The smell of mildew is strong from the A/C. The carpet is awful, the bathroom floor was sticky. Yes the bedding and towels were okay. But really this should be a $60 room….. just so sad. The checkin was smooth, very nice Minnesota welcome. The breakfast server was very nice food was good. But really fix up this place!!!!

The WORST Holiday Inn we have EVER stayed at! The WORST Holiday Inn we have EVER stayed at!! If we could rate lower, we would. "Unkept" best describes this hotel. Our door lock was not properly installed, so the latch and strike plate holes didn't line up - meaning, the door cannot lock! And, it was clearly put in that way. From the moment we entered the room, no matter where we walked in the room, the floor was sticky. The toilet appeared to be kid sized (not a standard toilet) and was fit into the small opening the wrong way - meaning you had to try and work to make it work! The toilet wasn't facing out??? Most Holiday Inns have a typical set up and there is a little ledge between the sink and toilet area, that is typically marble, granite, nice/chunky wood, or laminate. This appeared to be thin, cheap fiberboard slapped on top. The photos they post are not even close to what we got, or they were photos from a while ago. Most are of the restaurant/bar which was the nicer part. It wasn't even that it looked like the hotel hadnt been updated for the last 40 yrs, it was that is was shotty work and very cheap materials to skimp, but charge you a lot of $$. We've stayed at hunting/fishing resorts for the entire week, for what 1 night here costs! As frequent Holiday Inn patrons, we understand all hotels are all different. But one comes to expect a certain level of upkeep-a safe and relaxing place to spend a night or more. If we didn't know other IHG hotels are VERY different than this one...we would NEVER stay at a #HolidayInn, #IHG, again! The one positive thing we could say is that the bed linens and towels were laundered well and smelled as such. That at least was comforting after a full day of travel. Although we did not shower there because most everything was so sticky. The walls are paper thin and you hear everything-including the loud music at the bar when no parties or any events, etc, were going on-only 1 person sitting at the bar, and the music continued loudly until about 1am. You hear most every child or person in the hall-even just walking/running. The staff was adequate. As non-smokers, the hotel charges if you smoke in a room, but clearly if people were doing it before, they take their money and don't fumigate the room. It clearly smelled of smoke. Instead of paying the exorbitant rate to stay there, you can have a weekend at the Super8 OR a lovely overnight stay at the Hampton, for FAR LESS $$ than this Holiday Inn, and much much nicer. Would NOT stay here!

Not worth it, especially the breakfast. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Cleaning staff was polite. Beds were reasonably comfortable. That’s about were the nice comments end. We booked a room for 5. When we checked in, they charged us $10 extra for a cot. Toilet made noises and the rooms could use a refresher. We also paid the additional charge for breakfast when booking the room. However, they only provide 2 breakfast coupons. So 3 in our party would have to pay for the breakfast separately (and it’s not worth the money!). The breakfast was extremely disappointing. Food choices were very limited and unhealthy. And what was provided tasted blah. On the positive note, the restaurant staff were also friendly and helpful. Definitely not worth the money.
