A Good Time I had the great pleasure of staying at the Crowne Plaza for Memorial Day. Overall my time was great, the room had a great view, comfortable bed, and very clean. No complaints. I also want to give praise to the staff, especially Louisa. She was very professional/responsive and a pleasure to speak with. Gave great recommendations for local restaurants/bars, and just really made the stay at Crowne Plaza that much more special. Sad to hear that this place will be closing, because I would definitely come back. Thank you for the comfy stay!

This hotel is PERMANENTLY CLOSED!! I pulled up to the hotel yesterday to see the signage is down from the front. This hotel is closed for business until further notice. It would have been helpful if I had found this information before visiting the hotel, so I hope to help other travelers save themselves a trip!

Enjoyed location Hotel was nice enough. Definitely showing a little wear, but comfortable and good location. It’s considered to be in historical Alexandria, but it is about 10 minute walk. We, however enjoyed the walk! We always felt safe and liked the quiet neighborhood. There was parking at the hotel, which we did the first day. After that, we did street parking. My husband and kids ate at the restaurant in hotel and enjoyed it. I know there were some negative reviews about staff, but everyone was nice that we encountered. We only had trouble communicating once with valet when we had a question about shuttle. Went to front desk and got our question answered. The shuttle was nice, although it didn’t start until the afternoon. We used it a few times to get to the free trolley. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

they misrepresented their handicap room The 'handicap' bathroom had one vertical bar on the same wall as the showerhead, even with the edge of the tun. No use at all if you wanted to bathe -- in fact it's only use was for stepping in and out ofthe shower. No handicap bars by the toilet, tho' it was recessed, so you coud grab the wall to help you sit or rise.. We made the reservation a month in advance (through Priceline) and were told the only available handicap rooms came with a kengsize bed -- we needed to get a cot for the 2nd person. This was confirmed in phone calls. While we were there one of the desk clerks said that wasn't accurate and she would get back to me about it. She didn't, in fact, I never saw her again The instructions on the microwave were in French. There available TV channels are very limited -- to the point that their ONE HBO channel was not the one showing the finale of Game of Thrones It amazes me that chains on a somewhat lower scale can actually have competent and useful handicap bathrooms (the Red Roof Inn had 4 handicap bars) and a full range of TV options, while some of the more 'prestigious' chains apparently can't be bothered. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone with serious handicap needs (I don't think some wheelchairs would even fit through the bathroom door -- again, not a problem at Red Roof) for fully ambulatory visiotrs it would be fine

Wonderful location near Potomoc and good dining I had a very pleasant stay at this property. It was perfectly clean, well appointed with linens, towels, etc., and well-staffed. I was struck by the good control of sounds that often carry from room-to-room (until the entire floor filled with teenagers, whose sounds cannot be muffled). It is a pleasant walk away from the Braddock Rd Metro Stop. There were many options for walking on trails along the Potomoc River, dining in nice restaurants, and shopping in both local and chain stores. Sadly, I understand the property is being torn down to build a new condominium.
