Great location, excellent food and exceptional staff Stayed here for the half term week with our two children. The hotel is fabulous. Only a 5 minute walk to the cable car so ideal for skiing. The rooms were basic but very clean and spacious. The two children had their own twin beds which was great. Food was fantastic - huge choice of buffet starters, followed by a choice of 3 mains and 3 desserts. The staff were all wonderful. Food quality especially the meat was exceptional. Breakfast was also very good and slightly different each day so didn't get repetitive, Highly recommend.

Adequate This was an OK place. It’s rather faded – circa 1990. The interior was pretty stark, though it was clean. There was only 1 chair in the room which meant that one of us had to sit on the bed. There were a decent amount of towel bars/hooks and good counter space for toiletries. We had a nice little balcony with a partial view of the mountains, but there was no table on which to put drinks. The room did not have a fridge or a kettle with which to make coffee/tea. The website makes it look like it’s out in the country with beautiful views, but that is not the case. It’s on the edge of the town of Arinsal and the views are only partial and look down through the town. The dining room looked rather like a diner with plastic tablecloths and hard chairs. Dinners were pretty good (we had taken half-board thinking we’d be out in the country); the waiter was a bit aloof, but he warmed up over time. Breakfasts had a good selection of yogurt, cereals, breads, cheeses, meats, eggs and fruit – but there was no decaf coffee available. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. There was a faint odor of cigarette smoke most everywhere despite the prohibition of smoking inside – people were smoking right outside the front door and it wafted in. There is no A/C, so we had to leave the window open to get it cool enough to sleep. The towels and sheets/blankets need replacing – they’re kind of threadbare, though it was really nice to have sheets and blankets instead of only a duvet. Overall, it's an OK place for a night or 2. We wouldn’t necessarily avoid it, but we might look elsewhere if we were to return to the area.

Poor food quality We visited Arinsal skiing last year. The hotel we stayed at did not cater for vegetarians so this year we chose Xalet Verdu as the hotel and food reviews were great, especially vegetarian. Sadly, this was not the case! I do not know what the other reviews were thinking, all the food was poor and practically everything contained meat, the potato salad, pasta, rice ….. when we asked for vegetarian meals they were most put out, even though we specified on our booking. Even day 2,3,4 they were still surprised we wanted vegetarian meals. So they dished up rice & vegetables. The choice each night offered fish, which I eat, however, their version of a fish cake looked just like my dogs food and was not nice, it was served with a boiled egg & onions. I asked for potato, they returned with 2 tiny new potatoes and removed the egg! Mostly the food was cold. The waiter was always in a rush, wanting our order before we even sat down. Dinner time was not relaxing or pleasant, day 4 onwards we ate elsewhere even though we’d paid for half board. Breakfast wasn’t great either. The bar area was very small with a lounge on the other side of the hall, neither were comfortable or inviting so again we went elsewhere. The hotel & rooms are very dated but the bed was clean and reasonably comfy. Bathroom ok, towels had holes in. Boot room minimal but ok. Location was good, this is its best point. We would not return.

Perfect stay in Andorra! I had a wonderful stay here this week with my family and friends. The food is lovely and there is a lot of variety in the menu options. The staff are the most attentive, welcoming and friendly and it was a pleasure to get to know them during the week. The location is perfect and is very close to all amenities. Many thanks to the waitresses and especially Nelo for looking after is so well and making us laugh. We will definitely be staying here again when we return to Andorra!

A brilliant week to remember I just can’t fault this place. We went for New Year and had limited expectations given how good value the package was through Crystal Ski. The owners and staff made it a New Year to remember with a 7 course banquet, flowing wine, amazing hospitality and truly authentic Andorran experience. We were half board and the breakfast and evening meal continued to be of a high standard throughout the week. Nelo, the Head Waiter and his team were attentive and efficient The hotel is a short walk from the gondola and Arinsal Centre. The rooms are comfortable and clean. What more could you want?
