Blew up this morning Controlled demolition. No longer exists. An ex-hotel. It had joined the choir invisible in the great beyond. It has bought the farm whereupon it is currently engaged in pushing up the daisies. No complaints about it, though. Had a great, unique view of DC.

The 18 story building to be imploded Sunday Dec 13 8 AM I never stayed there - live a few miles away. On Dec 1, 8 am it will be imploded and totally demolished. I may post some pics if I can capture any good shots. I am sure the controled explosions and collapse will be seen on local media at least.

a fave hotel, here is some information We always stay at this hotel when visiting Arlington. Suddenly it wasn't coming up on any maps! I'm sharing this in case anyone else has been wondering like me. I found a Washington Business Journal article from 2018 that developer Dittmar Co. was seeking permission to replace the hotel with a pair of residential and hotel towers. Their plan was to break ground in 2020 and finish in three years. I will miss this hotel. They had pleasant rooms, warm staff members and a spectacular breakfast buffet.

Last Minute Visit to Arlington, VA This hotel is close to DC. I booked this hotel the day before I arrived in Arlington. I chose the hotel because it was close to a family member’s residence and has a heated pool. My trip was for six nights, but I only booked two nights until I could check out the property. I was very glad I had not booked six full nights. The staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. I enjoyed my morning coffee and bagel from Potomac Perk. I must say though the hotel is in dire need of an update. I actually felt the room/suite was a little depressing. Would have been great had it been updated. I moved to another hotel property nearby after only two nights.
