Ole' Jose! I recently completed a five day ski vacation using Aspen Silverglo for my small group accommodation. I have stayed in Aspen many times at properties such as The Gant, Lift One and Aspen Square Condominiums and although the Aspen Silverglo lacks much of the appeal of these competitive units, I feel the Silverglo lived up to my expectations and more. First, it was easy to book using VRBO. I was pleasantly surprised that Frias properties had listings on this sight. I like to have a reputable property management company involved in my rental experience. Once we arrived, we were greeted by our property manager, Jose, who became an instant friend and ally. Jose and Frias had a dedicated shuttle taking us to and from the airport ( free) and around a limited part of Aspen. We could get a lift for four blocks to the Aspen gondola whenever we wanted. Very helpful. Jose showed us a lounge where we could change after checking out to ski a half day before our last day. These little things added up. Our unit was "vintage" which I knew going in, but it was updated , well located and comfortable. One shower had a new Delta fixture that for the life of us we could not figure out, but I called management and they were right on top of it. The sliding doors and windows are in need of replacement and the registers created a sometimes annoying buzz when heating up the bedrooms. But the building was built in the 1960's and some of this was to be expected. The property worked for my group. Comfortable, well appointed at a reasonable price.

Overall good time! Great service, they upgraded us for free. The units are a little old but nice. Very clean. Awesome location - you are a short walk to the gondola and on the edge of town. Walking distance to restaurants. Reliable shuttle service for those not interested in walking. Would definitely recommend to others and would come back.

Solid, no-frills condo-livin' in a great part of Aspen... Booked a three-bedroom condo at the Silverglo fairly last minute, and had a great stay. The rooms are nothing special, but our place was spacious, clean and was a great, no-frills options when staying in Aspen with family members. The Silverglo is well-located in Aspen, and rests about a 5-7 minute walk from the main shopping and eating spots in the town. In fact, the walk home each night to our condo was one of the highlights of our trip, as you pass beautiful mountain scenery and fun people-watching along the way. Again, nothing really spectacular stood out about Silverglo, and there are definitely more luxurious accomodations in the town. But we had a great time in our condo, and would definitely stay here again if the need arises.

Don't be put off by the grotty 80's exterior Silverglo is a rather unattractive 80's style apartment complex so don't expect to impress visitors. However, from what I could tell most of the apartments are well decorated internally and, let's face it, you spend most of your time inside looking out rather than vice versa. The location is pretty good although most people will want to use the shuttle to Ruby Park or Ajax rather than walking in ski boots and carrying skis. It's an easy walk to most of the shops, restaurants and bars when you're not carrying skis. The shuttle arrangement works pretty well, particularly if the delightful Jose is on duty, and you only have to wait a few minutes. We stayed in apartment 208 which was clean and well maintained. It was also massively over-furnished - the owner needs some interior design assistance - but I liked it anyway even if there wasn't much room to move around all the chairs. There is a pool that is well maintained but the surroundings are pretty third world by Aspen standards to don't expect to admire the view of the run-down apartments next door. Would I stay there again? Definitely (unless I win a lottery and can afford the Intercontinental) - this is good mid-level accommodation and ideal for families. Make sure you introduce yourself to Jose on arrival - he's delightful and one of the world's true gentlemen.
