No breakfast no working internet Room was very clean, TV worked, AC kept going off and on all night which was quite noisy. Internet looked like it connected at first but NEVER worked. Breakfast is a joke (coffee, O-juice, granola bar, mini donuts - stale in plastic wrapper) - more stuff at the vending machine. Check in / out was easy, no elevator. Was expecting more for the money we paid during summer's slow time in Athens.

A Place to Commit Crime I was in town to take my daughter to freshman orientation at OU; we had traveled several hours and just needed a place to sleep for a few hours before heading to the school. I chose this place because it was cheap, and we only needed a place to sleep and shower. I usually stay in nicer places, but I only needed a six-hour stay. We arrived a little after midnight, and I should have known better; the place is waaaaaay out on the outskirts of town, and it’s obvious this place caters to a clientele who lives on the fringes of society. Check-in went well, got to the room and pretty much went straight to bed. Got up at 5:45am, and the shower drain was extremely slow to drain; the water was past my ankles after a few minutes (yes, I made sure the plug was not engaged). By 6:30, we were getting ready to leave and I noticed that there was blood spatter all over the wall around the light switch, including a bloody fingerprint on the light switch. Makes me wonder what was in that shower drain, but nonetheless, something terrible happened in that room. I felt the need to notify the front desk as I was checking out, and they seemed indifferent, and were only interested in what room I had stayed. No recompense was made, no apology. I should have known, and should not have chosen a cheap hotel if I didn’t want to be exposed to blood borne pathogens and sleep in a crime scene.

Good for an overnight stay Our usual hotel in Athens was unavailable and we decided to give Super 8 a try. I wasn't expecting much, but maybe one of the worst hotel experiences we've had. Used the card that we only needed the towels we used replaced and didn't need new bedding, but the beds were never made and one time the towels weren't replaced when we got back late in the evening (pretty sure they didn't even come to the room that day). Also didn't empty the garbage on a few occasions. Also there was a ring in the toilet and the tub stopper didn't work. Beds were comfortable and this would be a good place for an overnight stay, but don't recommend it for an extended stay.

Tired, worn-out, over-priced, but clean bed and bathroom TL;DR: Tired, worn-out, over-priced, but clean bed and bathroom The Super-8 is typical of motels bought by private parties and then never updated again to keep costs down and profits up. The furniture is worn out (see photo), the carpets in common areas are worn and dirty, the light bulbs have all been replaced with 25-watt to save electricity. There are no coffee-makers in the rooms. The "breakfast" consists of packaged baked goods and plastic yogurt tubs. The coffee was thin and tasteless. On the plus side, the room itself was clean and it wasn't noisy at night. All in all, it's just a very poor value for what you get. For about 2/3 the cost it might have been an acceptable deal.
