Marvelous stay First time here and I absolutely love this place . Stayed in a king suite and its like a mini apartment. So roomy. Almost full kitchen (sans oven), stove, full size fridge, micro, sink with disposal, utensils, plates, glasses, you get the idea. And I believe this particular room had been renovated very recently. For me, the location was great. Supermarket walking distance, if you're so inclined, along with several eating establishments . Nearby California State University with a walking path around campus ball fields and such. Will definitely stay here again.

The Manager who treats people like garbage While trying to check in at the front desk with the very friendly and very helpful two front desk ladies. I witnessed the “boss” Amanda, talk to and treat an older gentleman as if he was the most insignificant person she has met… The older gentleman, who was struggling to remember which phone number his Hilton honors account is under, was extremely pleasant with her throughout the exchange. Amanda then moved on to the other front desk employee who had a question about something regarding checking in the person she was helping. And proceeded to talk to this employee as if she was worthless and did not belong there. Amanda was extremely RUDE to her employee who was just trying to help the customer. Myself and another customer standing in line both recognized this and asked one another if we thought it was odd, we both agreed. If there was ever a reason for me to avoid a Hilton hotel, a manager like Amanda would be it. Thankfully they are not all like her.

Won't be back I was hoping this would be my go to hotel while on business in Bakersfield. I will look for another Hilton property. While the room was clean, it needs work. Wallpaper coming off the walls, shower head not fully working, and everything is outdated. To top it off, the whole floor including my room smells of weed. To each their own, but take it outside. Nothing done about that at all.

Nice spot in Bakersfield This is our go-to hotel when we stop in Bakersfield. It’s a Homewood Suites, so it’s not luxurious, but the rooms are large and have full kitchens. Our room was nice and clean on this stay except for a couple of long hairs in the bathroom. We liked the vintage photographs on the walls that showcase local history. A plus of this location is that it’s next to the Cal State Bakersfield campus, which is a good place for a walk. It’s also close to the path along the Kern River, and the River Walk shopping center.

Unable to find reservation, not connected with Hilton On arrival, could not find the reservation in their arrival list. They could not access the reservation number, or by name. I was pretty much going to go elsewhere with no reservation as they did not offer to find me a room either. The woman was nice, but the young man was rude and quite abrupt in his approach. I was professional to them, and this young man was pretty non caring about me not having anything or being able to find the reservation. He qualified its a franchise and they had not way to contact Hilton? His abrupt nature is not forgotten. I have no reason to return and I stay in Bakersfield quite often. I have stayed there before, but never again. The reservation was finally found, but the attitude is unacceptable, especially the young man. He has no clue how to treat people and the abrupt and arrogant nature needs to be addressed.
