Meh We stayed at the Bangor Grande Hotel and Conference Center July 4th weekend. We booked the Presidential Suite as we were in the area for a concert and wanted to have an elevated experience. A few things: The hotel markets themselves very well - pictures beautiful, website - great! However, when we arrived the experience was very lackluster. 1. Overall the hotel is old and outdated. Small improvements could be made to elevate the look and guest experience. 2. Wifi is basically non-existent. A router/modem was right outside our room but not actively working. We brought this up to two different front desk staff, but nothing was done. 3. The room: For a presidential suite it was very basic. We noticed stains on the lamp shades in both the living area of the suite and the bedroom area, missing pieces of carpet. The main door to the room is also very thin, meaning you can hear everything as people walk by. We chose this hotel as it was a short distance away from the concert venue, close to other attractions we wanted to check out. With the Canadian Exchange rate, I wouldn't consider it worth the price.

A Stephen King nerd who had a Grande time here. I visited Bangor on a Stephen King nerdy trip and stopped for four nights at the Bangor Grande, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Having forgotten to check about the hotel shuttle bus service before landing at Bangor International, I made one quick phone call and the guy who mans the front desk in the evening (Michael?) was there within ten minutes. A big shout out to him by the way, could not have been more accommodating and a credit to the hotel. The rooms were clean, tidy and spacious and the location was only ten minutes drive to get in to Bangor - and two minutes if you are doing the Stephen King bus tour. If you’re a fan, don’t miss that, it was awesome. Four nights in Bangor was probably one too many, but I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is heading to town.

Giant Hotel Overall the room was comfortable and well put together - recently renovated. The lounge on site was affordable and friendly. Frequent panhandlers outside. Would be nice to have a few picnic tables outside for guests to use. Prepare for lots of walking to some of the rooms.

Cold to lukewarm Water!!! We had no hot water!! We moved from one room to another a least it was warm but not Hot!!!!! They are dog friendly, however you are near a parking lot where the homeless hang out. We will never stay here again. The price is not worth it. Visitors use caution!

Not so grande Not really "grande" at all. Although entrance is beautiful and front staff are friendly, the place is in major need of a face-lift. The carpets are like something out of The Shining. Lots of sketchy looking people hanging around. The bed was very comfortable and the room was functional however the phone in the room didn't work and the whole thing was just really outdated. Comparible hotels for cheaper prices in Bangor.
